Last weekend 12th/13th October, the BSUPA SUP Race Nationals was held in Kingsbridge, S.Devon hosted by Waterborn. The 5km race was also the qualifier for the ISA SUP World Championships to be held in Nicaragua in 2014. Despite it being a grey and drizzly weekend, the great venue and action packed racing more than made up for it! The start/finish was perfectly placed in front of the pub, and the first buoy turn right in the middle of town, making great viewing for spectators. All the top UK racers were there so the battle was on in both the 12’6″ and 14′ classes. However to be in for a chance to qualify to go to the Worlds, racers had to compete in the 12’6″ class. The mens open 12’6″ had an incredibly close finish with just 2 seconds separating 1st and 2nd place.
