The Hover S25 is a good weight, and the carbon foil mount gives the board a great feeling under your back foot. Works well as a wing foiling board that goes in a bag.
It's definitely more technical to use in the surf because it offers less straight line tracking when not on the foil compared to an equivalent composite board. The deck-pad could be bigger especially if you are wanting to use bigger foils. The 6" thickness does change the feel of the board when on the foil.
Buy if... you're looking to get an easy to transport foil board. Good for all levels of wing foilers but in the surf you need to be happy using foil boards already. If you want to wing foil 70% and surf foil 30% then the S25 Hover inflatable would be a board to have on your watch list!

What the brand says
The brand new Hover Inflatables set the standard for compactness for wing-surf foiling and SUP foiling. Offered in 5’7”, 135 liter and 6’7”, 170 liter sizes, these boards are easy to travel with and roll up to a backpack size for travel and storage. Although they are inflatables, these boards have made zero concessions when it comes to performance. Built with a double dropstitch construction and single center stringer, the Hover Inflatables are extremely stiff for superior foiling performance. The 6” sidewall also contributes to the overall board stiffness, volume and stability. The carbon foil mount spreads the load of a foil evenly, giving a composite like board ride while keeping overall weight to a minimum. For traveling wing-surfers or SUP foilers, the Hover Inflatable makes travel easy without sacrificing performance.
135 is ideal for riders up to up 231 lbs/105 kg
170 is ideal for riders up to 264 lbs/120 kg
Hi, great review, I didn’t expect an inflatable to be rated so highly. I am a newbie and any thoughts on first Wing Foil board appreciated. By way of background, have windsurfed, surfed and SUP’d for many years. I spent a couple of hours last month at OTC getting up an foiling on a 140 ltr Fanatic with 2000 cm wing. I have a Naish S25 5.3 wing and have been out a few times on a long board SUP. I have a 2020 Fanatic Aero Foil 2000cm ready and waiting to bolt onto my board. I had ordered a… Read more »
Hey Jeremy . Thanks for sending over your questions. There are so many good boards out there. I do admit it is hard to decide. First thing I will say is that there is still a compromise between an inflatable board compared to a composite board. But I guess the only compromise for this Nash S 25 was that there wasn’t any foot straps on it. Having foot strap options or plugs really can increase your learning curve. So whatever board you go with definitely keep that in mind. I fully understand and see the benefits of going for a… Read more »
Hi Rueben
Thanks a really helpful reply, appreciated, thank you.
To be fair to Gong, so far, customer service and communication over the Christmas period has been very good.
Once the damaged board gets back to them, they have offered three options , refund, replacement or a repair and discount on original price.
I am going to wait and see until they get the board back and then make a choice on the above three options
I appreciate, as always, you get what you pay for.
Thanks for your thoughts, appreciated.
I will keep you updated.
Regards
Jeremy.
Cool Thanks Jeremy
i wanted to lean how to foil with a wing but when we are at anchor on a our boat, so inflatable was the way to go. I purchased this board and 5.3naish wing. The leaning curve is steep but I’m progressing. Would love to know your recommended position of the mast in the foil box and how it effects the performance?
Thanks guys
Hey Mark. The basics are the further forward you put the foil in the box the more lift (the earlier foil) you will get. But you will get overpowered earlier and you may need to stand further forward to keep the nose of the board flat. The further back you put the foil in the box. The less lift you will get. But this will be able to handle higher speeds and allow you to trim the the board a bit further back on the board. I found it best to be using the foil near the back of the… Read more »
I have learned to wing on this board having windfoiled for 2 years. Am a fan of inflatables and generally happy with the board but would like footstraps so am thinking of adding them as others have done. Have already added extra grip to the front of the board.
Hey Darryl sounds cool please send us some pics and let us know how you did it.
Hello Reuben!
Do you think a 100L version of this board will be OK for a capable 80 kg beginner, experienced in paddleboarding, to start wing foiling (no wave surfing, some downwing maybe)?
Or should I go with the 135 L version?
There are rumors they may add footstraps to it.
I’am going to take some lessons with instructor on larger board, so will be more prepared for a smaller board, when it arrives.
The foil will be 2000 or 2140 cm.
Hi Stas. Found the comment 😉 . As I said on your email. I feel it will have enough float if you are fairly happy standing on boards. But the 135L will still work well too. TBH after your first email I thought you were talking about a composite Naish 135L from 2017 which will feel very big on the water in length compared to these shorter inflatables. These inflatables do work well for winging but they do feel harder to get out of the water compared to their hard board brothers. This is due to a few things but… Read more »
Yes, I’m pretty good at standing on narrow boards, 14×26 being my default touring board:)
All inflatables are more sticky to the water, no surprise here.
Thanks again for your thorough reply, it helped me a lot!
No worries. Happy paddling and foiling.
