About dryrobe
Dryrobe was designed by UK surfer Gideon Bright who got fed up of changing in the cold before/after a surf. His mum made his first (not quite so stylish!) changing robe back in the early 1980’s. Gideon was initially given a hard time by his mates for his elasticated cape with towelling lining and large hood, but they soon came to realise that it was a very useful bit of kit, and were soon asking to borrow it! This first changing robe got Gideon thinking… towelling robes were a great idea but no good if it was raining or on cold windy days. So he set about designing the first waterproof and windproof changing robe. It was an instant success with both his mates and when he started selling them on line later that year, 2010. What started as a small home business in the SW England has now spread worldwide and athletes, watersports and outdoor enthusiasts across the globe can be seen wearing dryrobes. They have even been spotted on film sets being warn over costumes as well as by the production crew to protect them from the elements.
