The dryrobe Advance is designed to keep you warm and dry, but does it enhance your performance? We put it to the test and show you why staying warm before and after your session is important to achieving your sporting goals.
As a participant in sport, maintaining a stable body temperature is key to achieving peak performance. Once our body temperature starts to drop, our bodies start shivering to warm us up and this slows down the messages from our nervous system to our muscles and our muscles start to contract and shorten. We test the dryrobe on the beach after a SUP session to see if we can maintain core body temperature to keep our bodies in peak condition, ready for anything that life throws at us.
This performance review compliments and expands on our previous dryrobe Advance review.
What We Say - Performance Review
The most important action for us to stay warm is to get out of the elements and dryrobe does exactly that. With its waterproof and windproof outer shell, combined with the internal synthetic lambswool that holds heat in, dryrobe will get us out of the elements and maintain our core body temperature so we can achieve peak performance. Use the dryrobe before your session to keep warm and after your session to stay warm.
The dryrobe really is so versatile and the amount of heat it holds in is staggering. It’s one of those things that when you’ve used one once, you wonder how you ever managed without it.
During the testing, we wore the dryobe after the SUP session for over 1 hour on the beach, in the wind chill and cold sand to ensure we got this right. Once we took it off, the difference is staggering between the outside air temperature and in the robe.
Love my DryRobe, definitely a knack to changing in it though!
