Hello what about the negatives of getting a hard board damaged when you are going in unknown territory, versus an iSUP, I have been renting SUPs and I am concerned about coming with my SUP in a rocky area being dinged and scratched where as an iSUp is like a balloon that will bounce back. Any comments on resistance to the elements or handling the SUP hard versus inflatable.
You have got a point you definitely have to look after a hardboard, and be way more aware of not damaging them. But in all my years of travelling with SUPs and using them in lots of different conditions and places that could damage hardboards Ive never had any real issues. Generally hardboards are pretty robust and a surface ding or hairline crack is the most common damage a board gets. Easy to fix with a small repair kit.
