Keeping your SUP pump in perfect working order is a must for any inflatable paddleboard user. We have a look at what is inside a SUP pump and how to keep it running smoothy for years to come.
Hi Team, thanks for the helpful tips. My sup pump pressure gauge needle is not moving whilst air is still going through the pump. I believe the needle should have been from the other side of that plastic thingy. Any ideas how to solve this as in the past it was working fine?
Hey. thanks for your question. I’m just checking that you have got at least five psi of air in the board first. Because your pressure gauge will not go up at all below that. 99% of the time this is the problem with peoples pressure gauges. They just won’t register at the super low pressure. Have a check of this and let me know thanks Reuben.
Hey Reuben, thanks for the reply. Definetely more than 5psi. At the time it was around 12 as I checked it with another pump. It seems the needle is stuck on the small metallic thing that under normal circumstances it should only rest on it
O dear, yeah its sounds like you have a problem. Did it every work? What brand is it (sorry if you have told me already) Most of the pumps have standard pressure gauges that can be replaced i believe.
Just seen you pick and Im pretty sure you can take the plastic top off of that pressure gauge and pop the needle over the top the the other side. Or maybe turn it upside down and give the bottom of the pump a good bang to see if the needle jumps back around??

Hi Ruben,
You are right! It just needed a very thin blade to take the plastic off! Thanks for your help
