BSUPA Sup Event as part of Clacton Sea & Beach Festival
After the success of our race in October, SUP The Creek. It a was a delight that the British Stand Up Paddleboard Association (BSUPA) contacted us to deliver the SUP Discipline for The National Watersports Championships as part of their Sea & Beach Festival in Clacton On Sea on June 25th/26th. Preparations got underway to provide an event that would really appeal to the average family paddler as well as seasoned SUP Athletes.
“The main ambition for the event was to focus on the juniors, they are the future of the sport and with so many families now taking to SUP it is becoming more accessible for youngsters to try. It is up to schools as well as race directors to make sure we provide plenty of learning opportunities to grow the sport and really encourage healthy learning.”
With activities starting at 10:00 – 17:00 both days there should be plenty for those wanting to try SUP as well as those wanting just to see what it is all about.
“With plenty of course styles to suit all types and their paddling techniques, especially youngsters, I can’t wait till the festival starts. We have also seen a big increase of the popularity of the XL board racing classed as GISUP for the event (Giant Inflatable SUP) and we have included as much of this team fun racing into the mix as possible.”
