Barcelona to open the 2015 Stand Up World Series and European Cup in style this weekend with the Pre Game Show now LIVE
Barcelona has opened its arms to the World’s best athletes this weekend for an event to remember, as this magnificent City kicks off what will be the most exciting year yet on the Stand Up World Series.
The energy in the City is electric, and Summer officially kicked off this week, as everyone is heading down to the beach to watch the World Series action at Barceloneta Beach this weekend.
With a stacked field of competitors all kicking off their respective campaigns for the 2015 World Title, the competition will be intense and the action dramatic, as emotions run high and athletes push themselves to the physical and mental limits, all set to the backdrop of one of the most vibrant and unique Cities in the world.
Beyond the Professional division, the ever growing Open class will also take center stage this weekend, as hundreds of athletes step up to do battle at Barceloneta Beach in downtown Barcelona, from youth right up to Masters, with one of the most impressive women’s divisions yet.
One thing is for sure, Barcelona is the place to be this weekend, whether you are watching the live updates and highlights online through the weekend, or you can make it here in person, the Barcelona SUP World Series will make history in 2015.
The World’s best are to step up at Stop #1 in Barcelona
It is the who’s who of the World’s elite here in Barcelona this weekend: in the men’s professional division it is everyone from the current World Champion Connor Baxter (Starboard), 2012 & 13 World Champion Kai Lenny (Naish), Jake Jensen (Fanatic) and Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) to the strong European contingent of Casper Steinfath (Naish), Eric Terrien (Bic SUP), Leonard Nika (Starboard) and Arthur Arutkin (Fanatic).
Meanwhile in the women, we see a record field of over 50 women entered, with the likes of 2014 Vice World Champion Angela Jackson stepping up, along with the ever impressive Candice Appleby and the young phenom Manca Notar (Naish), not to mention the wealth of European and local Spanish talent that will be looking to take down the stars at home here in Barcelona.
