If you’re unfortunate enough to have to repair your board, this is a great video on the processes that take place when fixing your Starboard AST or Carbon SUP board. The 2 most important things to do when doing a repair on any board are;
- Preparation…. make sure your working area and tools are clean and all there ready for the job. Have them all out ready to go before you start working on your board. This will save you time and help prevent you getting in a sticky mess!
- Always use an e poxy resin NOT POLYESTER RESIN. Polyester resin reacts with the polystyrene inside your board and it will dissolve it away. 99% of SUP brands make boards using epoxy. If you are unsure if your board is made of epoxy or polyester… don’t guess, it’s not worth the risk! A quick google search or ask your local retailer is an easy way to find out.
Great tip. I’m planning to sand and repaint my Allstar. Any suggestions on what type of paint would be the most durable?
let me contact Starboards and find out a good paint for you.
