This weekend (Sunday 8th December) the ‘Nautic SUP Paris Crossing’ will be taking place through the centre of Paris. An exciting flat water race, passing the most beautiful bridges and buildings in Paris, from Bercy to the Eiffel Tower, including the Pont Neuf, Notre Dame, the Conciergerie and the Orsay Museum. So whether you’re a competitor or spectator you’ll be sure to see all the sights Paris has to offer in this unique event. There are 2 courses – the 11 km Leisure Course and the 12.5km Pro Course. So everybody will be taking part, from pro racers to those just wanting to enjoy the sights from a SUP! Both courses start in front of the National Liberty of France and finish at the ‘Javel’ Dock. Part of the Pro race will be against the stream near the Ile Saint-Louis making it extra challenging and exciting to watch!
Following last years successful event the competitor numbers has been increased from 200 to 300 competitors for 2013, so there’s sure to be lots of exciting action on the water. The event will see a number of top SUP racers including UK racers Marie Buchanan, Joanne Hamilton-Vale, Aaron Rowe, Peter Kosinski, Ben Swails, Sam Ross and Paul Simmons.
