The board’s stability, glide speed and versatility both in the waves and on flat water are definite pro’s to this design.
The quad fins felt good, but it would be nice to see Naish send a US Centre fin with the board. Also with the width and volume in the tail, you really need to step back to engage the fins and rail of the board when turning on a wave.
Buy if... You are a heavier SUP surfer, or looking to get into SUP surfing and want a board that is forgiving, stable and catches lots of waves.

What the brand says
The Mana 8’10” GTW Custom takes Mana style performance into the sub nine foot range. It appeals to a broad spectrum of paddlers thanks to its compact surf performance in everyday wave conditions. It features exaggerated nose and tail rocker with a relatively smooth mid section for exceptional gliding performance. The glide performance also helps to catch waves early and easily. The shorter length and exaggerated tail rocker lend itself for incredible maneuverability in the surf. The bottom features five fin boxes and can be ridden with thruster, quad or even single-fin setups for added versatility. For paddlers looking for an everyday surf SUP that they can grow with the Mana 8’10” GTW Custom is the easy choice.

Hi Beau, great Review of a nice board with a long heritage. Can you tell us something about the difference between Mana 8.10 GTW from 2017 and the new Mana 2021? thx
Thanks for the comment Kurt. Firstly, the 2021 Mana has a slightly wider outline which carries through the tail – so expect more stability and width when stepping back to turn the board. The nose rocker has been increased slightly whilst the tail rocker has been flattened to increase glide. The board now has the option for a quad fin set up as well as the 2+1. Also, it’s a much bigger board all around with extra width, thickness and volume. Hope that helps!

Thanks Beau for this clear and comprehensive answer.
Great to see Beau pigeon stepping across a British beach 🙂
Haha, thanks! Enjoying it
Great review! Curios how this mama custom compares to the maddog 32X 9’0 wide body thanks!!!!
Hey DJ. The Mad Dog range is designed for a more high performance ride with more rocker and a different distribution of volume. This makes the board more technical to use in the waves and is best suited to riders wanting to push their surfing limits. The Mana could be touted as the ‘cruiser big brother’ to the 9’0 Mad Dog x32 and riders would be looking for a more gentler, easier to use board for more beginner riders. Hope this helps.
