What we say
The multi-sport Fanatic Bee is definitely a board that wants to get noticed on and off the water. The Bee first came to market a year ago and it’s the replacement board to take over from the Fanatic Stubby Multi-sport board. We reviewed the Fanatic Stubby back in 2019 and were very impressed with it, but the Stubby was very much a multi-sport board that had come from a surf SUP board. Unlike the new Bee which with its shorter and wider compact shape has been specifically designed with multi-sports in mind. Also this year there’s a bigger board added to the range, with a 8’2″ Bee option as well.

Our RCMD rider weight: 90kg
Board weight: 10.19kg
Fin set up: thruster
Pros: This board will do it all and it offers an easier entry to foiling than the old Stubby multi-sport board did. Looks great and well finished. A good amount of stability for riders wanting more flying and less swimming. Footstraps are included.
Cons: The board isn't the lightest due to all the footstraps and multi-sport fixings. The extra width and rail thickness makes it harder to surf in medium or faster waves than the older Stubby multi-sport board. The 3 fins are well positioned on the board, but a single US box would allow more riders to get more out of the board when surfing.
Consider buying if... you're looking for one board to do it all on. Many riders will love its foiling performance which when put together with a bigger, stable foil really makes learning to foil fun and easy. Its a pretty funky colour too!

What the brand says
“Our Bee is the ultimate watersports-weapon”
Our Bee is the ultimate watersports-weapon. We’ve packed four different dimensions of pure fun into one board: SUP Surfing, SUP Foiling, Wing Foiling and Windsurf Foiling – you decide on the setup you ride.
Foiling has brought a new dimension into watersports and adds multiple options of having fun in marginal conditions. Problem is – you can’t do everything. Or can you? The Bee combines three foiling disciplines and adds regular SUP surfing as a bonus.
If you’re into SUP surfing and think about adding foiling to your repertoire, the Bee is made for you! If it’s shallow you plug fins in, if you find long rolling swell you mount your foil and start to fly. If the wind picks up, you either use a wing or a windsurfing sail as your engine for endless flight time. The options are vast and the feedback from our testers is brilliant – throughout all disciplines!
