The Royan SUP Festival delivered thrilling races and unforgettable performances, as Europe’s best battled challenging ocean conditions during the Week-end de la Glisse.
*Press Release: EuroTour SUP
Everyone was a winner yesterday in Royan for the Week-end de la Glisse, with true oceanic conditions and some epic glides by all. The fantastic atmosphere at the Week-end de la Glisse festival, a multi-sport event organized by Surfing Charentes and Nautisme Royan Atlantique, included great concerts that made for an unforgettable weekend.
On the women’s side, Iona Rivet was the favorite and delivered her hardest race to date (in her own words) to take first place.
She didn’t have it easy, with an early push from Lola Pelletier, who matched her last result in Belgium at stop #6. Achieving her best result to date, Gaëlle Paponnaud finished third, showing strong ocean skills. Back on the podium in fourth was the experienced Edith Teulade. Closing out the top five was Béa Basson, showing great grit and determination in the challenging conditions that forced several seasoned competitors to retire.
The clear favorite, Ethan Bry, didn’t disappoint, taking first place with impeccable ocean skills.
Not far behind for most of the race in second place was Donato Freens, capping off another great season. The talent runs in the family, with the winner’s younger brother, Eliott Bry, in third. Another young French paddler, Louka Brard, impressed with a strong fourth-place finish. Closing the top five was the always consistent Ludovic Teulade.

We would like to thank Xavier, Damien, and the whole team at Week-end de la Glisse for their professionalism and hospitality. It is not easy to integrate so many sports and highly regarded live concerts into one weekend, while maintaining such a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels included. Stay tuned for a bigger and better 2026 edition.
