From September 3–5, 2025, the Association of Wind & Watersports Industries (AWSI) Board Sports Expo brought together industry professionals, athletes, and brands for three days of networking, innovation, and on-water demonstrations. The annual trade event, held on the Columbia River, is exclusively for professionals in windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling, SUP, and surf sports.
Over 50 brands attended the 2025 edition, unveiling cutting-edge equipment, demonstrating advanced techniques, and connecting with retailers, media, and fellow manufacturers. Attendees tested new boards, foils, and wings directly on the river, taking advantage of Hood River’s reliable wind conditions. Pro riders conducted sessions and demos, giving an insider look at the latest trends in performance and technique.
The expo also celebrated achievements in the industry with the AWSI Awards, recognizing top athletes and innovators. Notable winners included Jesse Richman as Male Kite Athlete of the Year and Olivia Jenkins as Female Kite Athlete of the Year. The awards highlighted exceptional talent and contributions across the wind and water sports community.
Sustainability and innovation were key themes of the event, with brands showcasing eco-friendly materials and forward-thinking manufacturing practices. Wingfoiling and parawing technologies were among the most talked-about topics, reflecting the growing popularity and evolution of wind-powered foiling sports.
The 2025 AWSI Expo reinforced Hood River’s reputation as a hub for the wind and water sports industry, offering professionals a platform to collaborate, learn, and shape the future of the sports they love.
