Foil Around Britain

Simon Osborne and Steve Bowens set out earlier this year to circumnavigate mainland Britain on a foil. In aid of charity, their journey took them over 1,700km from Cornwall in the South West, to Scotland in the North East over a period of 5 weeks.

Their journey was cut short about half way around mainland Britain, but they left us with them potentially reigniting the trip and finishing the full circumnavigation one day.

We made it to Scotland today. That’s 1,726km foiling from Cornwall, resulting from five weeks of waking up every day and foiling from wherever we finished the day before. We spent seven days off the water due to storms. The longest day was 130km, and the shortest was 0km. We have no support driver for the last five planned days so this is the end of the project (for now). We are delighted to have gotten as far as we did, and have learned a great deal along the way.
We are very grateful to everyone who has donated to Cancer Research UK, raising money for this worthwhile cause. We have shared waves with fantastic wildlife and experienced lots of spectacular landscapes. Thank you everyone who has sent us messages of support and especially all those wonderful people who have helped us along the way.
