Attention UK SUP Racers! The organisers of the Beadnell Belta SUP race being held this weekend (7th September) in Northumberland have decided to reduce the entry cost to £15 per head (adults) and £5 (kids). The aim of the day is to get people on the water paddling, ENJOYING racing and having fun.
Join us for the Black Project Beadnell Belta on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, as we bring thrilling stand-up paddleboard racing to the stunning Beadnell Bay in Northumberland. Hosted by the Northern SUP Race Club, this event offers something for everyone, from seasoned racers to newcomers and juniors.
Race Schedule:
- 8.30 – 9.15 am: Registration
- 9.45 am: Distance race briefing
- 10.15 am: Kids distance race
- 10.45 am: Adults distance race and leisure class race
- 12.30 pm: Dragon board races, fun sprint races, and kids sprint races
- 1.45 pm: Tech race briefing
- 2.00 pm: Kids tech race
- 2.30 pm: Adults tech race
- 4.00 pm: Prizegiving
Race Formats:
Distance Race: This 10km race features two laps of a 5km course, perfect for experienced paddlers. The Challenge Tour offers a shorter 5km course for those new to racing.
Technical Race: A fast-paced race with multiple turns and beach transitions. This 1.5km race is split over multiple laps.
National Series Scoring:
To earn an overall position and National Series Scoring, paddlers in the race fleets must complete all three formats: distance, Tech, and Tech Sprints.
The Challenge Tour is a fun-style competition with shorter distances for those looking to try racing without the pressure of full-length events.
Juniors can participate in Distance and Tech Sprints to test their skills and experience the excitement of SUP racing.
