David Haze has triumphed through hardship and has become one of the coolest SUP adventurers in our sport.
David Haze is a multiple stand up paddleboard (SUP) world record holder and adventurer who is living a very different life. In this episode of BoatLife Stories David gives us a very honest insight into what life used to be like and how he has used his love for adventure and the water to turn things around.
After successfully completing my 4 lakes in 4 days challenge and achieving 4 world records, I had to honour my pledge and Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) the non-tidal River Thames, from Lechlade to Teddington Lock. I can proudly say I beat the old world record by 10 hours, it was the toughest thing I have done to date but it was all for a worthy cause. As I still have a target to reach, I am not going to stop until I have succeeded, which is why I am going to take on Lough Corrib, Ireland’s longest Lough and attempt another world record for the fastest time paddled across. The power of adventure and sport has truly transformed my life for the better, giving me purpose, drive and an opportunity to understand myself once again to live a fuller life.
