The Aussie big wave surfer and Fanatic team rider, Kyron Rathbone has been out at his favorite spot again in Tasmania scoring some great waves. Kryon emailed the SUPboarder team sharing the photos below and saying “Hey guys, here are a couple of shots from Tassie, Yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa!” You’ve got to love Kyron’s attitude when it comes to big wave surfing. You can imagine the conversation down the local pub in the evening – “Q; What did you get up to today Kyron? A; Just had a little surf on a rock slab this arvo. Was good fun but could have been a bit bigger! ” Keep it up Kyron you’re a legend!
Here’s what else Kyron had to say about his recent big wave session in Tasmania…
“We towed this all morning, got some bombs then as the swell backed off and the crowd went home I pulled out my SUP for a few on dark…
Surfing this place on a SUP is a tricky move, negotiating the paddlers, tow teams, wind, backwash and steps.. I am lucky to know all the boys down there so they are happy to let me get a couple and are always screaming at me to “Go go go ya mad c@#t” Hahahaha, I am pretty sure they just wanna see me wipe-out but if I can entertain the crew in the channel then why not.. Hahaha. I really want to push it to another level out there and I am just waiting for the right opportunity! Stay tuned!!!!!!!!” Kyron Rathbone
