SUP adventurer Charlie Head is off on his next expedition. But this time somewhere colder and with polar bears! Charlie is part of the ‘Polar Bears and Paddleboards’ team currently heading to Greenland. The team of 10 will be paddling 100km through the Sermilik Fjord to one of the biggest glaciers in the world – Helheim Glacier.
And the good news is Charlie will be filming the whole thing and doing his usual fun and informative blogs. This is the first blog from Charlie, sent exclusively to SUPboarder, just before leaving for Greenland afew days ago.
The project is supporting the Canals & River Trust, Momentum – Curing Bowel Cancer, and Development Through Sport by holding fundraising events. To find out more about Polar Bears and Paddleboards visit www.polarbearsandpaddleboards.com. And the guys are still looking for funding for the project, so if you’re interested in making a pledge and receiving some cool stuff go to their Kickstarter page… it’s not too late.
Here on SUPboarder we’ll be bringing you all of Charlie’s blogs. But you can also stay up to date with the teams progress with voyage manager which will give regular updates of their position.
