UK SUP brand Escape ‘Funk’ SUP Range.
Escape based in North Cornwall, have recently launched their new ‘Funk’ SUP range. Bill Attlee has been making boards since 1978, been a full time pro shaper since 1982, and has been shaping stand up paddleboards since 2007.
“At Escape Surfboards we want to make boards that fit how the surfer wants to ride. We match the riders weight, experience, ability and surf conditions they want to ride to shape a board that will help them get the best out of the sport. It is as important that we make boards for those who only want to ride waves of 2ft Saunton as it is the others who want to surf 12ft Porthleven. We offer a mixture of construction techniques and composites.” – Bill Attlee
“The Funk got in to waves with ease and when on a wave it was flying. It felt fast and loose but also still had a lot of drive off the bottom turns. Talking about turns, the turns I was getting out of this board stunned me every time I landed one. I didn’t know I could do turns like that on a SUP! It was like being given a new lease of life. I was buzzing when I got out of the water and I didn’t want to give it back! What a well-designed board, all credit to Bill and Alex for coming up with such a great SUP.” – Lee Norris (8’2” Funk).
